History of the company

 

Heinrich Bauer Publishing, trading as Bauer Media Group, is a German multimedia conglomerate headquartered in Hamburg. It operates worldwide and owns more than 600 magazines, over 400 digital products and 50 radio and TV stations, as well as print shops, postal, distribution and marketing services. Bauer has a workforce of approximately 11,000 in 17 countries.

Titles include women's weekly and TV listings magazines, namely Bella, Take a Break, that's life! TV Choice and Total TV Guide along with a number of puzzle magazines. In 1987 Bella was H Bauer's first venture into publishing in the UK. In 1990, H Bauer launched a weekly women's magazine named Take a Break. H Bauer also has a sister title, that's life! that launched in 1995. The H Bauer Publishing brand also includes puzzle magazines that carry the Take a Break name.

 The Bauer Media Group reaches 200 million consumers worldwide and operates in 13 countries including the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Israel, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, UK and USA and has 15,000 employees. Founded in Hamburg in 1875 and now in its 5th generation of family ownership. It operates worldwide and owns more than 600 magazines, over 400 digital products and 50 radio and TV stations, as well as print shops, postal, distribution and marketing services. This statistic shows the revenue development of the Bauer Media Group from 2005 to 2016. In 2016, the publishing company based in Hamburg generated a revenue of roughly 2.2 billion euros.

 Task 2 That’s life    That's Life !  was a magazine-style  television  series on  BBC1  between 26 May 1973 and 19 June 1994,  presented  by  Esther Rantzen  throughout the entire run, with various changes of co-presenters. The show presented hard-hitting investigations alongside  satire  and occasional  light entertainment . It was generally recorded about an hour prior to transmission, which was originally on Saturday nights and then on Sunday nights.
